There was no comment about this story in the introduction.

Summary

Some prominent Russian citizens have voluntarily moved to America to serve as human shields (and American citizens have done the same by moving to Russia). Mr. Percival pretends to help them get back to Russia, but his actual mission is to get them to stay.

Analysis

  • The ending reveals that the resulting American neutrality has not lead to world peace.

Unresolved Questions

  • Does Percival's name signal noble intentions, like Sir Percival? Or is it ironic given how he misleads the volunteer hostage?
